Arai RX-7V Evo road and track review

The Arai RX-7V Evo is considered one of the best helmets from Japan's well-known helmet manufacturer. It is highly regarded by top motorcycle racers and is similar in popularity to our previously reviewed AGV Pista GP-RR.

The RX-7V is not a newly designed product, unlike the Pista GP. It has been developed based on the principles of the original RX-7 helmet that was introduced in 1996. Over time, Arai has continued to improve and update the RX-7V while staying true to their fundamental beliefs, even though it may appear visually similar to its predecessor.

Arai RX-7V Evo | Price

The RX-7V has a starting price of £699.99 for basic colors but increases to £799.99 for race color options and £875 for the 2022 Isle of Man TT replica. Comparing to the Pista GP-RR, which starts at about £1000, the RX-7V Evo is a cheaper alternative.

The Arai RX-7V Evo has received a high rating for its level of sharpness and has also been approved for use in homologation.

RX-7V, there is no doubt that the new Evo edition will also receive high marks in performance testing. Additionally, it meets the most recent ECE 22.06 standards, which is a notable achievement for Arai helmets as only a few models have achieved this so far. For the year 2022, there is a new vehicle named Quantic.

Arai RX-7V Evo | Comfort

The RX-7V Evo is just as comfortable as the other lids in its range. Although it's a tight fit for me, being a size medium at 57-58cm, it's not uncomfortable. When you wear it, it feels like your head is being embraced. I've worn it for extended periods without any discomfort. There are no issues, despite the fact that it is slightly heavier than its rivals on paper.

Arai RX-7V Evo | Vents

Apart from the ECE accreditation, the vents have undergone numerous updates, with alterations made to both the inlets and outlets. Additionally, the top vent features a larger switch that makes it easier to locate in winter gloves.

struggling to detect any changes, unless I had access to sophisticated wind tunnel and computer systems. Despite this, the helmet boasts exceptional ventilation. During my ride at Mugello for the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa review in early spring, I had no trouble detecting sufficient ventilation in the helmet.

Desiring increased air circulation, the chin vent located at the center is exceptional in providing a continuous flow of cool air to the precise location you desire.

with the anti-fog coating) to keep it mist-free. In cooler temperatures, the chin vent can be closed to reduce airflow. Overall, the lid proved comfortable and secure to wear during my rides. In the United Kingdom, I also tried testing the helmet's capabilities in harsh weather conditions. Like previous Arai helmets I've used, I didn't experience any issues of water entering through the vents.

The chin vent has two settings that can either direct air towards your mouth during hot weather or towards the helmet visor in order to prevent fogging (assisted by an anti-fog coating). During colder weather, the vent can be closed to decrease airflow as well. In general, wearing this helmet was both comfortable and secure during my rides. The Pinlock, which comes along with it, can be used to prevent misting.

Arai RX-7V Evo | Visor

I've tested many Arai helmets and they all seem to have a wide opening. The RX-7V Evo is no exception, with its broad view being particularly advantageous. Additionally, the helmet's visor is transparent and high-quality, reflecting the superior standards of one of the top motorcycle helmet brands available.

racetrack. The aggressive posture of the AGV Pista GP-RR helmet helps me achieve a more comfortable racing position when I'm riding on the track.

Although it may seem contradictory at first, the raised neckline at the rear of the helmet actually makes it easier for me to direct my gaze where I want it to be while I'm racing. I'm sorry, there is no paragraph provided to paraphrase. Please provide the original paragraph for me to assist you in paraphrasing it.

a reliable anti-fog accessory for helmets. I had the opportunity to test the Arai helmet in the UK and experienced heavy rainfall in April this year. While riding with it, I did not notice any fogging on the Pinlock attachment, although there was some fogging on the visor during particularly wet rides.

Based on this experience, I am confident that Pinlocks are effective at preventing fogging on helmets. In colder and wetter weather conditions, it is absolutely necessary to have this helmet.

Arai RX-7V Evo | Verdict

originally designed for track use, I find the RX-7V to be better suited as a road-riding helmet due to its superior visibility when riding in a crouched position. However, when it comes to track riding, I prefer the Pista GP-RR. Despite being designed for the track, I still think that the AGV helmet is a viable option for road use.

Despite its aggressive design, the level of comfort provided by this product is not comparable to the luxuriousness offered by Arai when it comes to enduring long rides.
